has received the Best Short Paper Award at the 10th International Symposium on Visual Information Communication and Interaction (VINCI 2017)

On May 31, 2017 Paolo Federico successfully defended his PhD thesis titled 
"Visual Analytics of Dynamic Networks".

Silvia Miksch gave a talk @ IT SUMMIT 2017 in Linz about challenges and opportunities in Visual Analytics, entitled (in German) "Vom Datenwust zur Erkenntnis: Visual Analytics: Stand der Technik und Best Practice"

The project’s focus is the valorisation and the mediation of the capabilities of music as an urban identification tool. The interaction between music and urban texture (identity, political symbolism, mental determination, imagination) should be made accessible to academic and to a wide audience through interactive Visual Analytic Technologies.

Silvia Miksch served as opponent in Gregorio Palmas's PhD defense at the School of Computer Science and Communication (CSC) at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden (November 17, 2016). The title of this thesis is/was "Visual Analysis of Multidimensional Data for Biomechanics and HCI”.
