Modeling Provenance for Guidance in Visual Analytics

Problem

Provenance can be understood as means to describe different types of records and histories related to visualization. Examples of this can be Analytic and Data Provenance.

While research has been focusing on visualizing and making sense of provenance (understanding what happened, and how it happened), it is also possible to use provenance as guidance for analysis tasks (Please be referred to this).

Aim

Provide a systematic overview of research in the fields of provenance and guidance, and particularly elaborate if work has been done intersecting these topics.
