CVAST submission FINALIST at GD 2018 Contest

Submitted by Alessio Arleo on

Every year, at the International Symposium on Graph Drawing and Network Visualization a contest is held, in which several researchers produce a visualization (made by hand or automatically generated) of a given dataset and compete on which one represents it the best, according to various criteria that include the overall presentation and the faithfulness to the original dataset. This year, two datasets were given:

  • Game of Thrones: This graph models the relations between characters from the HBO series "Game of Thrones" by season 8.
  • Mathematics Genealogy Project: This graph models supervisor/student relations between mathematicians.

Velitchko Filipov, Davide Ceneda, Alessio Arleo from CVAST and Michael Koller from TU Wien Faculty of Informatics participated to the contest with their visualization of the Game of Thrones dataset and it was chosen among the best five submissions and will be presented at the conference.

The final ranking will be announced during the conference, that will take place from Sept. 26th to Sept. 28th.
