Visual Analytics and Guidance: Progressiveness and Persistent Interaction

Problem

Description:  As visual analytics systems become more complex, fusing models, algorithms, and interaction, new ways of communicating information from different sources and delivering the human-in-the-loop are needed. Guidance is a framework that provides us with concepts to analyze visual analytics problems and tools to involve users within systems with ever more refined processing capabilities. Two challenges are simultaneously open in this field: to make guidance progressive, i.e., highly interactive and adaptable, and to make the most out of user interactions in the long run, i.e., to make them meaningfully persistent.
