Personal Visual Analytics (PVA) for Patients
Problem
Personal Visual Analytics (PVA) is the science of applying VA (i.e., analytical reasoning facilitated by visual representations) in a personal context, which involves both visualization and automatic computer assisted analysis. PVA aims at visualizing data from various application domains such as selected health parameters, residential energy consumption, residential environment parameters, finance, fitness, mood, dieting, social media activity, or traveling. The amount of available personal data is constantly growing but it is not enough to solely collect this data. There is a need for efficient visual access to this data as well as analytical means to understand ourselves and our behavior better and consequently make positive changes in our lives.
Concepts related to PVA are: Personal Visualization (PV), Personal Informatics (PI), self-tracking, Quantified Self (QS), and life-logging.
Aim
You should provide a systematic overview of existing approaches in scientific literature that deal with PVA (for patients). This topics may be extended for a project, bachelor or master thesis by designing, implementing, and evaluating an interactive research prototype.
