Generic plan schemata can be instantiated and refined dynamically by the executing agent over significant periods of time and in highly dynamic environments. In the Asgaard project, we are investigating a set of tasks that support the execution of skeletal plans by a human executing agent, other than the original plan designing agent. We are developing task-specific problem-solving methods that perform these tasks in multiple clinical domains, given an instance of a clinical guideline plan and an electronic medical patient record. We point out the domain-specific knowledge roles required by each problemsolving method, and present a text-based, machine-readable language, called Asbru, to represent and to annotate execution plans. We represent explicitly the intentions underlying these plans, as temporal patterns to be achieved or avoided.
