Visual Comparison of Time-oriented Data: Patterns and Trends

Problem: 

Time is an important dimension with distinctive attributes. The use of information visualization and visual analytics techniques allows users to extract patterns and trends from time-oriented data. To do so users need an interactive environment supporting them in their tasks of visually exploring, analyzing, and comparing time-oriented data. The design, development, and evaluation of such an environment is the aim of this work.
