The Technische Museum Wien invited Theresia Gschwandtner to talk about her personal experiences of being a woman in technology, what made her choose to study informatics, what made her decide for a scientific career, and what recommendations she can give to young women.

The 'Ada Lovelace Day' was founded in 2009 by Suw Charman-Anderson in order to make achievements of women in science, technology, mathematics, and informatics more visible, and thus, to raise interest for these topics in young women and to encourage them.
